“Maria Plozner Mentil” Monument
The monument was built in Plozner Park and it has been dedicated to Maria Plozner, who decided to take part in the First World War as munitions supplier. She became a model to follow for all the women who gave their help to the soldiers. She was shot by an Austrian sniper while she was sleeping and the next day she died in Paluzza Hospital. In 1997 the President of the Republic Oscar Luigi Scalfaro conferred her a gold medal for valour as representative person of all the Carnic Bearers (Portatrici Carniche).
